the Hare the Snare and the Blindfold

Mythology with its exaggeration has always fascinated me, and I have neither seen in art nor read about a hare/man mix--a more exciting and greater challenge. For a long time I have wanted to sculpt the swift, usually solitary, lepus. Yet, if you are familiar with my work, you realize that I create edgy characters--thus, the myth connection. As this blindfolded and trapped hare developed, multiple slightly weird interpretations came to mind. The title is poetic and sets up allegory. Many of you will create your own tales. Why the blindfold? Why the snare? Why a hare? Why not a rabbit? What happened? Tell me what you think it means. Click "contact" and send me an email. I would love to read your stories. J.R.
